The aftercare should be a subject at the very first appointment with your doctor. Intensive supervision and regular monitoring after surgery is needed and a sign of quality – no matter what type of reconstruction you choose.
After surgery, it is important to protect the treated area well, for example with high quality compression garments, and to schedule regular follow-ups.
Closely follow the instructions, which you get from your doctor – doing so you facilitate an easy healing process.
Prevention and aftercare
In large studies, researchers found out that women with implants do not get breast cancer more often than women without implants. A breast implant does not affect the development of breast cancer. Also after implantation, the detection of tumors by means of mammography and a special technique, the Eklund technique, is possible. Modern imaging techniques - high-resolution ultrasonography, magnetic resonance imaging or computed tomography - support the timely discovery of a tumor.
For your own safety, inform your doctors and the person who performs your mammogram that you have implants.
